SOUTHAVEN, Miss.–Two Memphis men have been captured after a shootout and standoff with police in Southaven. Lamottis Simms, Jr., and Franshawn Brown, both of Memphis, surrendered to police Monday evening.
They were chased Monday morning by police in Horn Lake, who suspected them of breaking into cars. Police used stop sticks to flatten one of their tires and the car crashed on I-55. Simms and Brown shot at police and police shot back. The men then ran into a warehouse and refused to come out, according to police.
After several hours negotiating over the phone, officers persuaded the men to give up peacefully.
It was unclear what charges they may be facing.
