Greenville police are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday night near Highway 82 and Cedar Street. Officers were alerted around 10 p.m. and learned that two victims had been transported to Delta Health Systems by a personal vehicle.
The deceased victim has been identified as Carlton Thomas, 32, of Greenville, who suffered a gunshot wound to the back and later died from his injuries. Patrick Thomas, 25, also of Greenville, was injured in the leg and is currently receiving treatment at another facility.
Detectives are actively pursuing leads in the case, and an arrest is anticipated. The Greenville Police Department encourages anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at (662) 378-TIPS (8477).
