The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal one-vehicle crash that occurred on Interstate 55 this morning. The crash happened near mile-marker 164 on the southbound side of the highway at approximately 9:31 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024.
According to the Highway Patrol, a 2019 Toyota Tacoma driven by 35-year-old Albert Allbritton of Ridgeland, Mississippi, struck both the median and the guardrail. Allbritton suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
