DREW, Miss.–The 71-year-old inmate who escaped Parchamn Tuesday was caught Friday after several false sightings put him in Prentiss and Lafayette counties. He was actually caught in Sunflower County, not far away from the prison.
Sunflower County authorities and the Miss. Dept. of Corrections reported Nevin Whetstone was caught near Drew Friday.
Whetstone had been in prison since 1984 for the murder of a woman in Lee County.
He was also serving a year for a previous escape from the Sunflower County Jail.
