CLEVELAND, Miss.–Two teenage boys were killed in a wreck Tuesday morning when the car in which they were riding was T-boned by a Bolivar County deputy’s police sar as they crossed an intersection in front of the deputy.

The wreck happened about 6:30 a.m. at Crosby Rd. and Yale St, said Bolivar County Deputy Coroner Murray Roark.

He identified the two students as Ryder Houser, 16; and Josh Willoughby, 13. He said Houser was the son of Cleveland Alderwoman Marcia Wheeler Houser.

Both of the boys were on their way to football practice at Bayou Academy and the crash happened about a mile south of the school.

Bayou Academy posted on Facebook, asking for prayers for everyone involved.

“We ask that you pray for all the families involved in today’s tragic events, as well as our BA Family. We are all hurting at the loss of two of our own. We also ask that you pray for those at the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office and the families involved.”

The school offered counseling for classmates.
