GREENVILLE, Miss. — A traffic stop near Reed Road and Colorado Street led to the recovery of multiple firearms and suspected narcotics and the arrest of a man, according to the Greenville Police Department.
Officers were patrolling near Reed Road and Colorado Street on Tuesday, Sept. 15, when they received information about a gray Nissan reportedly occupied by people with firearms near the B-Quick store.
Police located a 2025 Nissan Sentra matching the description and conducted a traffic stop near the intersection.
As officers approached the vehicle, a male passenger fled on foot. Officers attempted to apprehend him but were unsuccessful.
During the investigation, officers discovered multiple firearms and suspected narcotics inside the vehicle. One 9 mm handgun was determined to have been reported stolen during a FedEx shipment, police said.
Officers also recovered suspected marijuana and THC-related products.
A 1-year-old child was inside the vehicle during the incident. An officer removed the child and moved them to a safe location away from the enforcement activity, according to the department.
Travarius Blackmon Williams was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen firearm and child endangerment. He also received traffic-related citations.
The investigation remains ongoing as police work to identify and locate the individual who fled.
