GREENVILLE, Miss. — A Greenville woman was arrested on a methamphetamine possession charge after police executed a search warrant Sept. 16 at a residence as part of an ongoing investigation into multiple residential burglaries and thefts.
Members of the Greenville Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and Special Operations Division executed the warrant at 149 Wallstreet Lane, according to a department news release.
Special Operations officers secured the residence while investigators searched the home and documented recovered items. Several people at the residence were detained and transported to the police department for questioning as investigators worked to determine whether any of the property was connected to the reported burglaries.
During a search of a bedroom reportedly occupied by Tia Spencer, officers found suspected methamphetamine, also known as ice, and two suspected methamphetamine pipes, the release said.
Spencer was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine.
Investigators later returned to the residence to continue searching for property potentially connected to the burglaries. Police discovered that a vehicle previously located on the property had been moved. Officers subsequently found the vehicle at another location and had it towed as part of the investigation.
The burglary investigation remains active, and additional charges could be filed as investigators work to determine ownership of the recovered property and whether other individuals were involved.
