COAHOMA COUNTY, Miss. — Five juvenile males have been charged with terroristic threats following an investigation into a Facebook post threatening the life of a Coahoma County School District principal, authorities said.
The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office said it became aware of the post Sunday morning, Sept. 20, and immediately began an investigation.
Deputies and investigators identified the five juveniles, who were taken into custody Monday, Sept. 21. All five were charged with terroristic threats.
Their names have not been released because they are juveniles, in accordance with applicable law.
The Sheriff’s Office said threats against schools, school personnel, students and community members will be thoroughly investigated.
Authorities also encouraged residents to report suspicious activity and provide information to law enforcement, emphasizing that even seemingly insignificant details could help investigators solve cases and protect the community.
The Sheriff’s Office said it remains committed to protecting Coahoma County schools and residents.
