Today MSDH is reporting an additional 1,434 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 10 deaths for the three-day period December 17-19. Five of these deaths occurred between December 15 and December 17. An additional five deaths occurred between November 4 and December 8, identified from death certificate reports. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases is now 523,889, with 10,364 deaths.
Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified three additional COVID-19 cases in residents of long-term care facilities and no deaths. There are currently 10 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
