GREENVILLE, Miss.–Acting U.S. Secretary of Labor Julie Su’s tour through Mississippi Wednesday took her from Jackson to Greenville. Her missing, according to a Tweet, was to explore the plight of immigrant workers in Mississippi.
“When we say we’re the most pro-worker administration in history, we mean ALL workers,” said Su.
The Tweet also said the needs and experiences of immigrant workers were her priority, as well as learning how the Biden administration can help.
Su also spoke to a panel at the Smith-Robertson Museum in Jackson about jobs and wages.
“I think the question is, what makes a good job? And the question is where someone can make enough to not only just get by, but to thrive, to save for their future,” she said.
