An early morning fire wrecked houses and caused injuries today. At 4:09 AM, firefighters rushed to Hal Street and St. Charles after hearing about a massive fire in a house. The fire hurt people inside and a firefighter; now experts are trying to figure out why it happened.
The Fire Marshal was first on the scene and saw a one-story wooden house on fire. Firefighters from Engine 1 started putting out the fire, and Engine 4 ensured enough water. Another team, Rescue 2, helped too.
The fire was so intense that it spread to a nearby house where a lady was inside. She got hurt from the smoke and had to go to Delta Health Center for help. She’s getting better now and is expected to be okay.
One firefighter got burns on his arms because the fire was scorching. He went to the hospital in an ambulance. Thankfully, he’s going to be alright and should get better soon.
Experts are working to find out how this big fire started. The Fire Marshal, Fire Investigator, and State Fire Marshal are all investigating.
