CLEVELAND, Miss. — A body was discovered Monday on the campus of Delta State University, school officials said.
University staff found the deceased individual earlier in the day, according to a statement from the school. University Police and local authorities are investigating.
Officials have not released the person’s identity or any details surrounding the circumstances of the death.
“Our community is deeply saddened by this loss,” the university said in a statement. “We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends impacted.”
Counselors and support services are being made available to students, faculty and staff through the O.W. Reilly Counseling Center.
Delta State canceled all classes and Centennial events scheduled for Monday.
