CLEVELAND, Miss.–Your expertise is needed on a voluntary basis if you are an expert on physical fitness. The Bolivar County Volunteer Fire Dept. is collectively looking to lose weight and they say they need some help to be more effective at their jobs.

In a Facebook post, Asst. Fire Chief Talbot Brooks acknowledges that he is 200 lbs. overweight. He says he is willing to donate $2.50 for every pound he loses to fund exercise equipment for the crew.

They are also looking for some donated equipment so they can build camaraderie by working out together.

But, they are also in need of expert help and motivation.

“We want it to go away and stay away and understand this will require hard work, dedication, and longer term commitment to pull off. We’re ready to get serious about this. Please help us by making a donation of your time, expertise, or equipment in this regard. We know it won’t be easy, but if we never get started and don’t go about this right, then we’re stuck and could actually make things worse,” said Brooks.
