CLARKSDALE, Miss. — A Friars Point man was shot and killed early Friday morning in Clarksdale, according to the Clarksdale Police Department.
Police said officers responded around 2 a.m. Friday to reports of shots fired in the 1300 block of Anderson. When they arrived, they found 24-year-old Hertayvious Williams suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers began life-saving measures until Pafford EMS arrived and transported Williams to Northwest Regional Medical Center, where he later died of his injuries.
Clarksdale Police Chief Vincent Ramirez offered condolences to Williams’ family and the Friars Point community, calling the violence “senseless.”
