INDIANOLA, Miss.–If you’ve been keeping up with some of the state’s big economic announcements this year, few of them have been in the Delta. Britt Herron hopes to change that. He’s been named executive director of Delta Strong, an economic development branch of the Delta Council.
Herron has a long career in economic development that began in 1989 in Sunflower County. Since then, he’s headed up economic development organizations in Louisiana, Pike County, and most recently, Tate County.
“We are excited that Britt has joined the Team at Delta Council, and he will immediately hit the ground running”, said Wade Litton, chairman of Delta Strong, in a prepared statement.
“Britt knows our region, he knows how to recruit and work with business, and he knows how to close deals.”
Herron is a Delta native from Quitman County.
