The Cleveland-Bolivar County Chamber of Commerce is warning vendors about a scam involving fake Octoberfest emails.
According to a statement posted by the Chamber, several vendors received fraudulent emails claiming to be from the Cleveland Octoberfest team. The messages requested application fees, menus, and setup photos.
Officials say the messages are not connected to the Chamber or the official Octoberfest event.
Vendors are urged not to send money or personal information and to contact the Chamber at 662-843-2712 if they have any doubts. The Chamber is asking the public to share the alert to help prevent others from becoming victims.
