CLARKSDALE, Miss.–A city-wide revival is happening all this month in Clarksdale, with the use of some city facilities approved by the Board of Commissioners.
“I am excited. We have people fasting and praying. That has to go before any great work,” said Anna Jones, who is leading the revival, at the meeting of the Board of Commissioners last week.
The revival begins today (Oct. 1), at City Hall. But, Jones plans to carry the message of the “Rest for the Weary” revival all through the city.
“Some people thought we was gonna be in churches. Nope. We’re trying to go outside because some people ain’t coming to your church,” she said, in presenting the idea to the city.
Jones asked for use of some city facilities, including the auditorium and National Guard Armory, in case of rain. The city agreed to reduce or waive fees.
