CLARKSDALE, Miss. — Clarksdale Police Chief Vincent Ramirez issued a New Year’s message to residents emphasizing gratitude, community partnership and a renewed commitment to public safety as the city enters 2026.
Ramirez thanked residents for their continued support, highlighting what he described as a strong sense of community marked by neighbors helping neighbors and families supporting one another.
“That spirit is what makes Clarksdale special,” Ramirez said.
The chief outlined the department’s primary goal for the year as building a safer, stronger and more united Clarksdale. He reaffirmed his commitment, along with that of the department’s officers, to serve the community with integrity, respect and compassion.
Ramirez stressed that effective policing depends on collaboration with residents, encouraging citizens to report suspicious activity, speak up when something does not feel right and reach out when someone needs help.
“When we communicate and work together, we save lives,” he said.
The chief also pointed to broader priorities for the year, including safer neighborhoods, stronger families, increased opportunities for youth and renewed hope across all areas of the city.
Ramirez concluded by wishing residents peace, protection and prosperity in the coming year and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to continue serving the community.
“On behalf of the Clarksdale Police Department, I am honored to serve you, and I look forward to continuing this work together,” he said.
