Clarksdale Police Respond to Multiple Incidents

On Maple Street, officers swiftly responded to a residential burglary report. The homeowner recounted that unknown individuals had forcefully entered the residence, making off with a sizable haul that included a 75-inch television, a window air conditioner unit, and an undisclosed sum of U.S. currency.

In a separate incident, another homeowner reported the theft of a .22 caliber firearm from their property, a development that has raised concerns about public safety in the area.

Adding to the growing list of concerns was a reported shed burglary, where homeowners discovered that their storage space had been compromised. Various valuable tools and equipment were stolen, including a Dewalt Miter saw, Dewalt drill, electric chain saw, electric drill, gas-operated posthole digger, a generator, and a push mower.

The crime wave continued with the theft of a white 2017 GMC Yukon, identified by the license plate 6G76R. The vehicle had been parked on the 100 block of Anderson Boulevard, adjacent to Regions Bank, on September 28, 2023. When the owner returned the following day, the vehicle was conspicuously absent.

In a particularly distressing incident, a shooting occurred at a hotel in the 300 block of State Street on Friday, September 29, 2023, around 1900 hours. Clarksdale Police promptly responded to the scene and found two male subjects believed to have shot each other following a heated disagreement. Both victims were subsequently airlifted to Memphis, Tennessee, for medical treatment.
