Life will get back to normal, but you’ll have to wait a day for that to happen. In the meantime, city offices are closed today in Greenville, Cleveland, Greenwood and most cities in the Delta and north Mississippi, thanks to the up to five inches of snow in some places, and the sleet and ice in others.

You are still being advised not to travel, if you can avoid it.

“Temperatures are not gonna rise above freezing today,” said Dan Byrd, forecaster at the National Weather Service. Highs will be at or below 20 in most places in the Delta. “Tonight’s lows will be in the single digits along and north of I-20.”

But, Wednesday will likely be the day it all goes away.

“A little bit warmer as we get into Wednesday, with high in the upper 30s to low 40s,” said Byrd, adding that it will be sunny all day, which will help speed up the melting.
