CLEVELAND, Miss. — Residents in Cleveland and surrounding areas are invited to participate in the “Walk for St. Jude: Stronger Together,” set for Saturday, April 4, at Bear Pen Park.
The event, hosted by the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Bolivar County Alumnae Chapter, will begin with registration at 7:30 a.m. Organizers say participants of all ages are encouraged to attend.
Held in partnership with Divine Nine organizations and other community partners, the walk aims to raise awareness and funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which provides treatment for children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
This year’s theme, “Stronger Together: Steps of Strength, Steps of Hope,” highlights unity and community support, according to organizers.
Participants can expect a morning of fellowship and encouragement as community members walk together in support of the hospital’s mission. Proceeds from the event will benefit St. Jude, where families do not receive bills for treatment, travel, housing or food.
Organizers encourage community members to support the effort by attending the walk, making donations or sponsoring participants.
