ROSEDALE, Miss.–While the investment is not in the billions of dollars like the plant in Marshall County, some people are willing to invest in the Delta and its people. Construction has begun on the first phase of the Rosedale Distilling Company, which will provide jobs in west Bolivar County, and other amenities.
Upwards of $17 million is being spent to convert an historic factory into the first legal distillery in the Delta.
The owners hope to provide 64 jobs in Bolivar County, top shelf liquor, and a museum.
That museum is expected to feature a history of the exploration of the Mississippi River, which it is near, bluesman Robert Johnson and other notable Delta figures.
