CLARKSDALE, Miss.–The Ward 1 commissioner seat in Clarksdale will have to be decided again and the citizens of that ward are being asked to cast votes again.
Former commissioner Bo Plunk challenged the close election in court Thursday and a ruling says there will be a new election, reported the Clarksdale Press Register.
It has not been determined when that new election will happen. But, until then, Ray Sykes, the man who had been declared the winner and was sworn in last week as the new commissioner, will continue to represent the people of Ward 1.
The first meeting of the new board is Monday.
