MEMPHIS, TN (Ben Caxton) — The coronavirus is now within 100 miles of the Delta. No cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Mississippi but over the weekend a Shelby County resident tested positive. That person recently traveled out of Tennessee and is under treatment in isolation at a Memphis hospital. A faculty member at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a Shelby County Schools employee are ALSO under 14-day quarantines after coming into contact with that individual. Health officials say there is no risk to the public at large but are recommending that everyone wash their hands, cover their mouths and avoid touching their faces as much as possible.
