CLEVELAND, Miss.–The Delta has the best chance for snow, sleet and freezing rain accumulation when dangerous cold moves in next week, said National Weather Service forecaster Mike Edmunston. But, precipitation is not guaranteed, and the Weather Service is still closely monitoring forecast models.

Edmunston said you should be prepared in advance for the extreme cold, which may have Delta counties experiencing teens or single digits Monday and Tuesday morning.
“It could be one of those hard cold freezes with bursting pipes…if we don’t take precautions,” he said.
Edmunston said you should priorities the “three Ps”: pipes, pets and plants.
“Anything that’s out on the porches when you’re talking teens needs to be brought indoors.”
