Delta State University played host to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (MDPS) in a recent job fair aimed at enlightening students about diverse career paths within the department’s various organizations. Dr. Kent Wessinger, Interim Chair of the Department of Management, Marketing, and Business Administration, spearheaded the event in collaboration with Dr. Hannah Harrison, Human Resources Director for MDPS.
Harrison expressed enthusiasm, stating, “This is an exciting opportunity for us to showcase not only our agency as a whole but also the varied jobs we have in our department.” She emphasized MDPS’s intention to fill not only sworn positions like police officers but also critical roles in administration, finance, HR, IT, and other divisions within the department.
“We have active job openings currently, but this is also an opportunity to showcase what we do for the state,” Harrison explained. “Given the workforce crisis and the dynamic nature of our needs, we want to highlight the range of jobs available and encourage individuals to pursue careers where they can evolve alongside the department.”
