CLEVELAND, Miss. — Delta State University’s Entertainment Industry Studies program has once again earned national recognition, being named among Billboard magazine’s Top Music Business Schools for 2025 — the fourth consecutive year the program has received the honor.
The announcement was featured in the October 25 issue of Billboard. The magazine selects its top programs based on industry recommendations, alumni success, faculty credentials, and data provided by each institution, supported by nearly a decade of research into leading music business schools.
While online options have grown across the country, Billboard’s annual list highlights campus-based programs offering hands-on experience and degree pathways that prepare students for real-world success.
Delta State’s Delta Music Institute (DMI) was named alongside nationally recognized programs at Belmont University, Middle Tennessee State University, and Full Sail University, among others.
“Being recognized by Billboard for the fourth year in a row underscores the incredible dedication of our faculty, students, and staff,” said Richard Tremmel, DMI director and chair of Entertainment Industry Studies.
Housed within Delta State’s College of Business & Aviation, the DMI offers Mississippi’s only Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Industry Studies. The program provides students with a comprehensive education in the creative, technological, and business aspects of the entertainment world, working closely with industry professionals to build practical skills and connections.
Delta State University, a four-year public institution with about 2,700 students, represents a diverse student body from across the U.S. and more than 35 countries. Programs like the Delta Music Institute, the Department of Commercial Aviation, and the Center for Interdisciplinary Geospatial Information reflect the university’s commitment to innovation, industry engagement, and student success.
