GREENVILLE, Miss. — Fire crews in Greenville responded to two separate fires reported at the same time Friday on Winchester Davis Street, both of which are now being investigated as arson.

According to the Greenville Fire Department, the first fire was reported at 601 Winchester Davis, where firefighters found heavy smoke and flames inside an abandoned home filled with trash and debris. While working that scene, crews discovered a second fire just down the street, where the porch of a home at 609 Winchester Davis was actively burning.
Firefighters quickly contained and extinguished both fires. No injuries were reported.

During the response, crews found two containers of gasoline near the scene, prompting officials to call in the Fire Marshal’s Office to begin a full investigation.

The fires are being treated as intentional. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Greenville Fire Department or the Fire Marshal’s Office at 662-378-1616.
