DSU’s Nicholas Johnson Awarded Prestigious Scholarship from Mississippi Professional Educators

Nicholas Johnson, an Education major at Delta State University, has been awarded the 2024 Linda Anglin Teacher Preparation Scholarship by the Mississippi Professional Educators (MPE). This esteemed scholarship awards Johnson with $500 towards his academic pursuits. Additionally, Johnson will receive a complimentary membership to MPE for his inaugural year as a teacher.

A resident of Cleveland, Johnson embodies the spirit of academic excellence and leadership. Alongside his studies, Johnson is an active participant in numerous campus organizations, including the Omicron Delta Kappa honor society, Union Council Board, Student Government Association, and is the president of the National Society of Leadership Success honor society.

Johnson said, “Receiving the teacher scholarship from MPE is not just a recognition of my dedication to education, but also an affirmation of the value placed on empowering educators to make a difference in classrooms. This scholarship serves as both a financial support and a symbol of encouragement, fueling my passion to continue fostering a nurturing learning environment for all my future students.
