JACKSON, Miss. — For the 19th consecutive year, Site Selection magazine has named Entergy a Top Utility in economic development.
Entergy Mississippi said it helped secure $9.609 billion in capital investments and nearly 1,177 new jobs within its service area in 2025.
“Being recognized as a top utility in economic development is a testament to our commitment to powering growth and opportunity across the communities we serve,” said Ed Gardner, Entergy Mississippi vice president of business and economic development. “By pairing reliable, affordable energy with strategic partnerships and thoughtful investment, we’re helping communities compete for world-class projects while ensuring our customers benefit from the opportunities that growth brings.”
Entergy said the projects also contribute to state and local tax bases that support schools, roads and public services.
The company’s Fair Share Plus framework is designed to require large data centers to cover the full incremental cost of serving their facilities, along with shared system-wide costs. Entergy said the framework is intended to maintain affordability, strengthen reliability and support community benefit programs as industrial and data-intensive demand increases.
Site Selection evaluates utilities based on job-creating infrastructure and facility investments, economic development programs and incentives, and online tools and data available to businesses.
Entergy Mississippi’s Superpower Mississippi initiative includes nearly $1 billion in grid upgrades and a 50% increase in reliability spending, according to the company. Entergy said the initiative is supported by more than $2 billion in revenue from large industrial customers, including Amazon Web Services, and is intended to reduce outages by 50% while improving the state’s competitiveness for future economic development projects.
Entergy also provides businesses with site selection, project management and other economic development services throughout its four-state service region.
The company’s economic development resources include BuildingsAndSites.com, which features more than 79 site listings across the Entergy service area.
