GRENADA COUNTY, Miss. — The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Monday morning on Interstate 55 in Grenada County.
Troopers said a 2016 Kia Soul driven by 79-year-old Barbara Cudak was traveling north near the 214-mile marker when it left the roadway and struck a tree.
A passenger, 76-year-old Barbara Domanska of Poland, was taken to the University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced dead. Cudak was transported to Oxford Baptist Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
