LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Miss.–A fire Monday morning killed two people in Lafayette County.
The call was about 6:30 a.,m. on County Rd. 119, which is just southwest of Oxford, south of Hwy. 6. When firefighters got there, the house was already fully involved.
When firefighters learned that people were inside the house, they went in, pulling one person out and starting CPR. They had to get out and couldn’t reach the other person. Both people died.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
