BYHALIA, Miss.–A former mayor and current alderman in Byhalia in Marshall County are under arrest, charged with a commercial burglary that happened last year.
Former Mayor Deborah Weathers was charged with breaking into a house described as “non-residential”, along with her sister, Lori Wilson. The two are accused of taking furniture, appliances, photos, tools, paintings, electronics and even fireplaces over several days time, according to the indictment handed down this week.
The burglary happened in October of 2024.
The alderwoman charged in the case is Delainer Richmond, who’s charged with possession of stolen property worth more than $25,000. She’s accused of retaining the property which the women are accused of stealing.
You may know Richmond’s name already. She was arrested last summer and charged with growing marijuana.
The three were arrested Tuesday, following their indictment.
