CLARKSDALE, Miss. — Former Mississippi Gov. Ronnie Musgrove visited the city of Clarksdale this week, meeting with Mayor Orlando W. Paden to discuss community progress and future opportunities for the city.
Musgrove, the state’s 62nd governor, met with city leadership for what officials described as a thoughtful exchange focused on economic development, civic growth and long-term planning for Clarksdale.
Also present at the meeting were George Harris, an attorney, and Millicent Dixon, the city’s grant writer and deputy clerk. City officials said the visit provided an opportunity to reflect on Clarksdale’s ongoing initiatives while exploring strategies to strengthen the community moving forward.
Mayor Paden welcomed Musgrove to City Hall and expressed appreciation for his continued interest in local governance and development efforts across Mississippi.
City officials did not announce any specific initiatives stemming from the meeting but said the discussion emphasized collaboration and vision for Clarksdale’s future.
