SARDIS, Miss.–Funeral services for a Panola County deputy, who also served as a resource officer in the county school district, have been set for Saturday in Batesville.
A “Sea of Blue” funeral procession has been arranged for Thursday at 6 p.m., beginning and ending at Henderson Funeral Home in Sardis for Deputy Kevin “Skinny” Leland, who died of pneumonia Friday.
The public viewing will be Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m., at the Batesville Civic Center.
Parents in the community have expressed appreciation for Leland, for the lives of young people he touched through his work.
