In response to mounting concerns about the deplorable living conditions at Hallmark Garden Apartments, the Greenville City Council has adopted a resolution declaring the apartment complex a public health and safety hazard. Mayor Errick D. Simmons expressed his gratitude to the council for their swift action and immediately authorized the initiation of cleanup efforts by the Public Works department.

Mayor Simmons wasted no time in joining the dedicated city crews as they embarked on the task of restoring cleanliness to the neglected property. He personally thanked the hardworking individuals and took the opportunity to speak with the tenants, offering his support and assurance that their voices had been heard.

The adopted resolution acknowledges that the state of uncleanliness and disrepair at Hallmark Garden Apartments poses a serious danger not only to its tenants but also to the broader community. The mayor expressed his disappointment that taxpayers were being burdened with the responsibility of rectifying the situation on private commercial property. Nevertheless, the city is committed to taking the necessary steps to improve the living conditions and ensure the well-being of all residents.

Mayor Simmons emphasized that all legal procedures had been followed to address the issue at hand. As part of the cleanup efforts, the city will be assessing all costs, expenses, penalties, and fines to Hallmark Garden Apartments, ensuring that the burden of the cleanup falls on those responsible for the property.
