In the early hours of Thursday morning, local firefighters responded to a blazing car fire at the River Walk apartments on West Union Street. Prompt action and effective coordination by the fire personnel led to the rapid extinguishing of the flames, preventing further damage and injuries.

At 2:47 a.m., Rescue 2, Ladder 3, and Command 1 received a dispatch call regarding an auto fire at the specified location. Equipped with protective gear, the firefighters wasted no time rushing to the scene to address the emergency.

Upon arrival, Rescue 2 immediately reported to Command 1 that a two-door passenger vehicle was engulfed in heavy flames from the engine compartment. The intensity of the fire prompted the immediate deployment of resources to combat the inferno.

Rescue 2 swiftly took action, utilizing two sections of attack lines measuring 1 inch and 3/4 inch in diameter to combat the fire. The firefighters skillfully maneuvered the hoses, directing a steady stream of water onto the flames. Their concerted efforts resulted in the successful containment and control of the fire within minutes.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire originated from electrical issues within the vehicle. Fire investigators and experts are working diligently to determine the incident’s exact cause and circumstances.
