Early Monday, February 7, 2022, the Greenville Police Department responded to 1245 Belfast in reference to a stabbing. Once officers arrived on scene, they found 50yr old Denise Winters with several stab wounds to her body. Washington County Coroner pronounced Winters deceased on the scene. Arrested for the incident was 25 yr old Johnnie Washington, the victim’s son. Washington was taken into custody and charge with First Degree Murder. He is presently being held in the Washington County Correctional Facility awaiting his Initial Court Appearance.
Washington is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
