Greenville Man Arrested in Kidnapping and Rape Investigation

GREENVILLE, Miss. — A man has been arrested in connection with an investigation into allegations of kidnapping and sexual assault that began in April, according to the Greenville Police Department.

Kordarial Hughes was arrested Sept. 11 after investigators obtained felony warrants charging him with kidnapping and rape.
Officers responded to Delta Health on April 13 after receiving a report of sexual assault. During the investigation, officers learned that the victim reported being taken to a location in Greenville and sexually assaulted without consent, according to the police department.

The case was investigated by the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
Hughes was located at a residence and taken into custody without incident on Sept. 11, police said. He was then transported to the Greenville Police Department for booking.

The department has not released identifying information about the victim, citing the sensitive nature of sexual-assault investigations.
