GREENVILLE, Miss.–“Our Blue World” is a documentary produced by Liam Neeson and Matt Damon that was filmed partially in and around Greenville. Greenville Mayor Errick Simmons plans to attend the world premiere April 22.
“We did interviews with a film crew here and in Ireland about seven months ago,” Simmons told the city council at Tuesday’s meeting. “We’ve been requested to be in the audience at the premiere in New York.”
According to the film’s website, it is a documentary that will be on Netflix and is about the relationship between people and water.
Simmons said he believes it will be a positive for the Delta.
“It not only spotlights Greenville, but spotlights the importance of the Mississippi River,” he said. “Our Mississippi River basin not only feeds the country, but feeds the world with the ag products and things.”
