Greenville Mid-Delta Airport in Search of Direct[or

GREENVILLE, Miss.–The Greenville Mid-Delta Airport is becoming more of an economic tool for the Delta and it is hoped that a new leader for the facility will be able to fully exploit that status.
A special meeting for the City Council was called for Friday morning and part of the agenda is devoted to the council looking over two applicants for the post of director of the airport.
Over the past year significant improvements, with a variety of funding sources, have happened at the airport, ranging from physical to philosophical. One of the most visible improvements is with signage and other improvements on the grounds of the facility.
Another improvement is with the offerings at the airport.
City fathers and economic developers see the airport as having the ability to not only attract business but become a hub for business itself, offering classes on aviation repair and technology to community college students.
Another improvement is becoming a hub for crop duster and small aircraft repair.
The next director would oversee these initiatives and also set their own vision for what the airport could be.
