Greenville Police Arrest Suspect in Latest Homicide

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, the Greenville Police Department responded to a call from the vicinity of St. Charles/Hal Streets reporting a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers discovered an 18-year-old black male, identified as Demarcus Taylor of Greenville, lying in the 900 block of Hal Street with multiple gunshot wounds. Taylor was swiftly transported to Delta Health System, where he was pronounced dead by the Washington County Coroner.

Following the tragic incident, law enforcement apprehended 18-year-old Tylar Lane, also from Greenville, and formally charged him with First Degree Murder. Lane is presently detained at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility, awaiting his initial court appearance.
