A late-night shooting in Greenville on July 17, 2023, has shaken the community as authorities investigate the tragic incident. At approximately midnight, officers from the Greenville Police Department swiftly responded to reports of gunshots in the vicinity of Elm and Beckwith Streets.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a male victim lying on the ground. The victim, 52-year-old Garrett Albert, a resident of Greenville, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Immediate action was taken to provide medical assistance, and Albert was expeditiously transported to Delta Health for further treatment. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Albert’s injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead by the Washington County Coroner.
