GREENVILLE, Miss.–If you’ve ever had the feeling you were being watched, that will be validated in the next few weeks in Greenville, with the installation of some new police technology meant to cut down on crime.
“We executed the contract this week with Sky Cop, to install 11 new surveillance cameras, Sky Cop surveillance cameras, and four new license plate readers within the city,”said Daniel Boggs, executive director of Main Street Greenville, in his report to the city council Tuesday.
Boggs did not make it clear where the cameras will be installed and some of these locations may not be readily visible to the public.
“Those are in production right now and will be installed within the upcoming weeks,” he said.
The purchase and contract is being made along with the Washington County Economic Alliance and the Greenville Police Dept.
