CLEVELAND, Miss.–A heat advisory is in effect for the Delta, with an actual high of 101 expected both Monday and Tuesday and heat indices expected to reach 111 or higher.
That level of heat could make being outside for lengthy amounts of time dangerous, says the National Weather Service. You are advised to stay inside, in the air conditioning, if that’s possible. If not, take frequent breaks. Wear light-colored clothing if you have to be outdoors.
The Weather Service also advises you to drink plenty of water and to consider drinks or snacks that help replace electrolytes.
A front is expected to bring rain chancers by Wednesday.
