CLEVELAND, Miss. — Get ready to shake, shake, shake your booty as KC and The Sunshine Band, the legendary purveyors of disco-funk goodness, are set to take the stage at Delta State University’s Bologna Performing Arts Center on Thursday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m.
With over 50 years of making booties shake, KC and The Sunshine Band have not only given a voice to a generation but have helped define an entire culture that continues to make an impact today. Led by the charismatic Harry Wayne “KC” Casey, the group has been in a perpetual state of renewal, maintaining cultural relevancy through their music featured in motion picture soundtracks, television shows, and national advertising campaigns.
Formed in 1973 with the sole purpose of creating instant happiness through music, KC and The Sunshine Band have accomplished just that and more. The group has topped charts with unforgettable singles such as “That’s the Way (I Like It),” “Get Down Tonight,” and “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty,” accumulating worldwide sales of over 100 million and receiving numerous awards.
