JACKSON, Miss.— The Mississippi Council on Economic Education has elected Jim Perry, a finance executive with a background in public policy, as chair of its Board of Directors for the 2025–2026 term.
Perry is Managing Director and Head of Structured Finance for the Municipal Products Group at Wells Fargo Securities, where he has overseen more than $25 billion in infrastructure financing for public and private entities nationwide. He previously led the Southern Region and co-led the Public–Private Partnership team for public finance at Morgan Stanley. His public service includes roles as Deputy Chief of Staff and Policy Director for former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour and Legislative Director for U.S. Rep. Roger Wicker.
Perry, who holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and government from the University of Virginia, lives in Jackson with his wife, Jordan, and their two children.
He will also lead the organization’s signature annual event, the Forum on American Enterprise, scheduled for Oct. 23 at the Jackson Convention Complex. This year’s forum will focus on tariffs, markets and modern economic policy.
“Jim brings deep expertise, unwavering commitment, and strategic vision to our mission,” MCEE President Selena Swartzfager said in a statement. “Under his leadership, we will elevate access to economic education across our state.”
MCEE is a nonprofit organization that works to improve economic and financial literacy among K–12 students in Mississippi by providing training and resources to educators.
