CARROLL COUNTY, Miss.–In Carroll County, Kelvin Perry can finally begin serving his 60-year prison sentence. He was convicted on drug chanrges in absentia in 2010, and had already fled at the time of his trial. But, after 14 years, he has been returned to Mississippi.
Sheriff Clint Walker said Perry was arrested in St. Louis, March 28.
He was returned to the county Wednesday.
Walker had a simple message of appreciation for those involved in his capture and return.
“I appreciate the cooperation between our agencies and the community to bring this to a peaceful resolution at long last,” he said.
