COURTLAND, Miss.–The man arrested last week by federal authorities in Panola County on child pornography charges was an assistant at a kindergarten.
The home of Benjamin Wilkes, 30, was searched Friday and he was arrested on several charges related to possessing and transporting child pornography.
The sheriff’s department said they assisted in the search and arrest, which was conducted chiefly by Homeland Security and the Mississippi Attorney General’s office.
Wilkes is not thought to have harmed any students at Batesville Elementary School where he worked and is no longer employed.
