MARKS, Miss.–A standoff between police and a man they believe had a gun was over in about an hour Tuesday afternoon. Several law enforcement agencies, including the Quitman and Coahoma County Sheriff’s Departments and the Highway Patrol surrounded the house.
Police did not release the man’s name, but said he went inside after a shooting where no one was hurt. He then refused to come out. It was then reported to the public as an active shooter situation.
That’s when several law enforcement agencies responded.
After an hour of negotiation and with the house surrounded by authorities, he gave up.
